Frequently asked questions about relationship therapy for one —

  • No two sessions are alike. Each session combines discussion, reflection, processing, and tool-building. One week we may talk about a recent event and how it affected you.

    Another week, we may spend time processing feelings from experiences you haven’t thought about in years that have recently risen to the surface. Other times, we might work on specific skills or tools to apply in your relationships and life.

    We’ll use EMDR therapy, mindfulness, hypnosis, and parts work to help you heal and grow.

    While therapy can sometimes be challenging, emotional, or uncomfortable, I strive to create an environment where you are comfortable and secure experiencing and processing difficult feelings.

    Therapy should feel like a safe place for you!

  • Initially we will meet weekly, usually at the same time slot each week.

    The length of time you spend in therapy depends on your needs.

    Due to the nature and depth of the work we do together, I often work with individual clients for at least 6 months and up to multiple years.

    Ultimately, the duration of our work together is up to you.

  • It’s often the less significant events that have significant impact on how we view ourselves and how we relate to ourselves and others.

    Your experiences are important and meaningful, no matter how big or small. They’ve shaped you whether or not you recognize or acknowledge it.
